On May 28, 1985, star-struck Elizabeth Fuller’s dream came true when the legendary Bette Davis came to dinner at her Connecticut home. Four weeks later, as the hotel strike in New York dragged on, she was still there. This is an intimate, funny, and true story of a Hollywood legend coming face-to-face with her most ardent fan. Fasten your seatbelts, the hilarity is about to start!

Julie Bayer (Bette Davis)

Julie is glad to return to the Steel Beam Theatre stage. Her previous shows here include The Odd Couple (Florence Unger), Silent Sky (Annie Cannon), The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolen), The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) (Self), Scrooge: The Musical (The Ghost of Christmas Past), Don’t Dress for Dinner (Suzette), Fairways (Kathy), and Jekyll and Hyde (Emma). Her other credits include the Lyric Opera Chorus, Sweeney Todd (Paramount Theatre); Drood (Fox Valley Repertory ); Persuasion (Chamber Opera Chicago: UK, Chicago, NYC tours); Dial M for Murder, A Christmas Carol (Metropolis PAC); Promises, Promises, Noises Off!, The Dinner Party (Brightside Theatre); Circle Mirror Transformation (Janus Theatre)

Heidi Swarthout (Liz Fuller)

Heidi is overjoyed to return to the Steel Beam stage! Her favorite Steel Beam appearances are The Real Inspector Hound (Cynthia) and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged (Jess). Other favorite performances include Skylight (Kyra) at Gallery Theatre, On Golden Pond (Chelsea) at Indian Valley Theatre, In The Next Room, or the Vibrator Play (Mrs. Daldry) at Albright Community Theatre, her ongoing work with Janus Theatre Company’s Elgin Shakespeare Project, and opening later this month, Silent Sky (Annie) at Wheaton Drama. When she is not participating in theatre, she is talking about it on the podcast she co hosts, The Just for Show Show. The stage is her second love, the first being her beautiful husband, Johnny, and their two pups. She extends a heart of gratitude to Marge and Julie, and all those who support her, on and off the stage.

Me & Jezebel runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM from March 4 – March 20.
